Durante el mes de Septiembre hemos participado en Alhambra Venture, una iniciativa promovida por el diario IDEAL, donde se dieron cita las start-ups más innovadoras junto con inversores, en una jornada de ponencias y mesas redondas con personajes de primera línea del mundo de emprendimiento y la inversión y presentaciones de los 23 proyectos seleccionados, entre ellos ¡Placement Finders! Aquí puede ver nuestro video de presentación para Alhambra Venture.

Alhambra Venture fue una experiencia para nosotros, empezó con una fase de “academy”, donde como proyecto seleccionado hemos asistido a un curso mini-máster durante verano, por Instituto San Telmo. Aprendimos mucho.

Specific Tasks:  - Collecting information from English and Spanish language sources such as Internet, Telephone interview, occasional visits and Press Conferences
- Prepare the data in word documents so that it can be either directly added to website by a web designer or for checking and final copy writing by the Editor - Managing content jobs in ‘job system’ by updating text, researching and updating information, writing new articles, helping commissioning new articles - Add material directly to website using the web design programme Dreamweaver or a new content management system software called Drupal - Report progress to Managing Director formally and Editor for additional guidance

C) Job Title: Picture Editor
Job Description: - To keep the current photographic images on website up to date
- To collect and prepare new photographs (and some videos) on the ever expanding pages
- Be responsible for the development of a number of specific content sections
- Report to Creative Director
- Opportunity to work alongside award winning professional photographer and form part of editorial team of well established firm
Specific Tasks: - Picture editing 
- researching images from large in house digital (and slide) stock in accordance with lists and editorial content of website pages that need images
- Images also sourced from hotel reservations systems and purchase from outside stock libraries
- Scan images from the extensive in house slide library
- Manage photo wants lists and prioritise tasks in work flow
- Managing picture request jobs in the ‘job system’
- Assisting on photo shoots in studio and in field including occasional travel
- Attending Press Conference and media events - opportunity for shooting photographs for the website
- Preparing photographs for website etc. Scanning, cropping, colour calibration, histograms captioning. Attention to work flow, storage, backup management
- Training provided Adobe Light room and Adobe Photoshop, Nikon NX2 and Capture
- Add material directly to website using the web design programme Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Drupal Content Management System
- Uploading and key-wording images to commercial slide libraries such as Alamay, Corbis, Getty

D) Job Title: Sales Support
Job Description: - Reporting directly to the MD (General Sales Manager), responsible for supporting the sales team achieve monthly sales targets
Specific Tasks: - Collecting sales leads from print, internet and other media
- Input sales leads in Act10 programme. Create new record or update existing
- Check old leads for current viable status by telephone
- Check old groups for current viable status
- Check existing clients are recorded correctly in Act
- Inbound emails to be checked in Act and book immediate sales call
- Download inbound emails, check in Act, book immediate sales call
- Obtain name of person in company responsible for marketing
- Book calls in Act10 for sales team for any viable sales contacts
- Obtain and manage appointment for the field sales team
- Manage contacts and follow up calls for field sales team

Company description: The company owns numerous holiday apartments around Spain. They advertise properties online to Spanish and international customers. Long term rentals as well as holiday rentals

Number of employees: approx. 50
Job description: The main role of the student will be to make reservations. This is done by emailing and calling customers. The student will have to learn information on all apartments, and be able to talk in a professional manner to customers on the phone and through email. The student will also be in charge of the advertising on British websites. Making sure the websites are up to date with information etc.
Student profile: Must be able to learn quickly and be quite independent
Remuneration offered: €250
Location: The main office is located in the city of Valencia, only 1km from the beach and under 1km from the city centre.

13) IT

 Company description: Offering IT services, including sales, networking, installations, programming, web design, etc.
Job description: Marketing; finding prospective clients through press, internet, sending information, following up, getting feedback, arranging meetings. Writing articles, blogs, monitoring FB page, checking the online ads
Remuneration offered: accommodation
Location: Fuengirola
Comments: High level of Spanish required, knowledge of French would be good


Company description: Rental company offering tourist apartments short and long stay. Large company

Unas reseñas sobre nosotros

Somos una empresa muy entusiasta, recientemente creada y con base en el sur de Andalucía. Tenemos experiencia en el mundo de las agencias de colocación. Nuestros dos directores tienen titulación universitaria en idiomas (uno en español y francés y el otro, te lo creas o no, ¡en chino y japonés!)

Aunque hace ya algún tiempo, nuestros trabajos en prácticas en el extranjero nos trae a ambos muy buenos recuerdos. Un año trabajando en el extranjero era parte obligatoria de nuestro plan de estudios y todavía recordamos lo que sufrimos durante la terrible experiencia de encontrar un puesto de trabajo. Nuestras universidades tenían algunos contactos con empresas, pero sólo unos pocos tenían la suerte de conseguir un puesto de trabajo en prácticas en condiciones. No era tarea fácil, ni lo es ahora, encontrar una empresa en un país extranjero deseosa de contratar a un estudiante. Nosotros estamos aquí para evitar el estrés en el proceso de encontrar tu propio puesto de trabajo y permitirte seguir siendo un estudiante. Para hacerte la vida más fácil y realizar un trabajo que nos gusta.

Encontraremos un trabajo adecuado para ti y te ayudaremos durante todo el proceso.

La mayoría de los trabajos en prácticas no son remunerados, pero intentaremos negociar algún tipo de salario, quizás para cubrir los gastos de alojamiento. Nosotros opinamos, y estamos seguros de que estarás de acuerdo con nosotros, que es mejor un buen trabajo en prácticas, a la luz del sol, y financiado por ti mismo, que permanecer bajo un cielo gris, sin experiencia laboral y con un currículo aburrido. 

En otras palabras, es lo mejor para ti y tus expectativas laborales, al mismo tiempo que consigues una sólida experiencia laboral en un clima agradable.

Mejora en la demanda de trabajos para estudiantes

Dado el actual clima económico, cada día más empresas se plantean la posibilidad de contratar un estudiante para compartir el trabajo y superar la carencia temporal de personal. Las empresas se van dando cuenta de lo mucho que un estudiante puede aportar a su organización, no sólo en términos de ahorro en recursos, también se pueden beneficiar de su valiosas aptitudes, conocimientos e internacionalización.

Hoy en día, una titulación no es suficiente una vez que se abandona la universidad. Realizando un trabajo en prácticas y consiguiendo una sólida experiencia laboral, estás mejorando tus posibilidades de encontrar trabajo, demostrando que tienes una mente abierta, quizás más dinámica, y mucho que ofrecer a una empresa.
